A Northern Territory cattle station is seeking a governess for the 2022 school year. One child in year 3 through Katherine School of the Air and one child year 6 through NEGS distance education programme.

The family are looking for someone at the beginning of the school year 28th January 2022.

This role offers amazing conditions in a unique location. This could be a great opportunity for a new adventure in the NT.


This is a school-focused role which involves preparing and supervising daily lessons, maintaining a high level of communication with both parents and teachers, and keeping a clean and tidy schoolroom.

There is also the optional opportunity to join in with any station work that may be happening, outside of school commitments.


  • The successful applicant must have a genuine love of working with children.
  • Previous governess/teaching experience is essential
  • An Interest in horses would be an advantage
  • Must have car licence


Up to 15 other staff are employed on the property. There is the opportunity to join in with activities such horse riding, The historic Daly Waters Pub is only 8km down the road boasting 2 pools and the Highway Inn is only a short drive further with more options to swim and enjoy their new renovations in your spare time.
