Are you an experienced and dedicated individual with a passion for agricultural management? Our client, RD Millner Pastoral, is seeking an Overseer to join their team and contribute to the effective management of company properties in the Gooloogong/Woodstock region. This unique opportunity spans approximately 30 km west of Cowra, encompassing four properties totalling 4,700 acres. The station’s operations include beef cattle, irrigation, and grain and hay production.
This exciting position would suit an applicant with some leadership experience who is looking to enhance their skills in a hands-on role. They would also have a keen interest in hay production, livestock and farming.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Engage in hands-on cattle care and execute daily farming tasks.
• Assist with implementing work programs, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
• Uphold a strong commitment to the company’s Workplace Health & Safety program, ensuring safety protocols at all times.
• Operate Centre Pivot irrigation, crop sowing, hay production, and machinery maintenance.
• Display proven leadership skills.
Preferable Criteria:
• Highest standards of animal welfare and low-stress stock handling techniques
• Previous experience with hay production
• Hands-on experience with farm machinery, coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Demonstrated competency in fencing.
• Exhibit a hardworking, energetic, and well-organized approach to tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and be able to work as a part of a close-knit team.
• Chemcert Certificate and HR Truck license desirable.
