Station Hand – 2nd or 3rd Year with Working Dogs

Mt Hope Station is located between Cobar and Hillston in Far West NSW. Recreational activities and sports in local communities nearby include motorcross and enduro events, rugby league/union, tennis, water sports, rodeo, campdraft and gymkhana.

Mt Hope Station spans approximately 164,000 acres and stands as a prominent player in the large-scale production of managed goats within the western division of New South Wales. The Opportunity

Joining Mt Hope Stations as a Station Hand offers a unique experience for a motivated individual with a proven background and passion for livestock. This role is well-suited for someone in their 2nd or 3rd year with hands-on experience and their own working dogs. Couples will also be considered. The position presents an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in IT farm systems including Agri Webb, Farmbot and electronic ear tagging. You will be provided with ongoing training and mentorship.

• Stock work and animal husbandry with goats

• Mustering with motorbikes/buggies

• Fencing and water runs

• Livestock processing

• Vehicle maintenance

• Tractor driving

• Feeding livestock

• Previous experience as a Station Hand, with at least 2nd or 3rd-year knowledge.

• Competency in operating farm machinery and equipment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

• Passion for agriculture and commitment to sustainable farming practices.

• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
